What you can check
- Check whether the opener has power and whether the wall control responds. If the wall control works but the remote does not, the remote may need attention.
- Look at the door from a safe distance. Note whether it is crooked, partly open, or visibly damaged.
- If the opener strains, the door feels unusually heavy, or a spring or cable appears damaged, stop using it and request service.
